Oysterville Sea Farms was founded to generate revenue for the restoration and preservation of the last oyster cannery left in Oysterville. Oysterville Sea Farms follows sustainable aqua-culture practices that my family has been following since 1935. Oysterville Sea Farms provides ongoing employment and keeps the oyster in Oysterville.
Washington State is the only state on the west coast that allows the purchase and sale of tideland. Private ownership of tidelands motivates farmers to sustainable harvest their tidelands in an ecologically beneficial way. Oysterville Sea Farms is the steward of over 200 acres of privately owned tideland.
In recognition of Oysterville's influence on west coast aqua-culture, the Oysterville Sea Farms cannery was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 21, 1976. This was key to Oysterville being designated a National Historic District.
WILLABAY: MORE THAN JUST OYSTERS
We harvest clams and oysters daily at Oysterville Sea Farms. You can snack on oyster shooters, crannie salsa, shrimp cocktails, or crannie pecan cookies on our dock overlooking Willapa Bay. Our seafood market offers oysters, clams, crab, smoked oysters, and razor clams, all either grown on our farms or purchased from the freshest local source.
Foods produced by Oysterville Sea Farms are sold under the Willabay trademark. Willabay's fresh and diverse specialty food line features crannie condiments, cereals, wheat-free cereals, spices and breading, all of which can be purchased online. Willabay developed delicious recipes in its kitchen. When purchasing Anna Lena Select cranberry products, Maury Island Cake Mixes, Seaport Spices and Wholly Cow Cereal, Willabay added many generations worth of experience to its recipe knowledge.
